Trapezius Botox® — Frequently Asked Questions

How many units are typically injected?

Most patients need 30 – 60 units per side (total 60 – 120 units). Exact dosing is personalized to muscle thickness and symptom severity.

Discomfort is minimal—tiny needles and quick injections. We can apply topical ice or numbing cream if you’re sensitive.

Light easing often appears in 3–5 days; full muscle relaxation peaks at 10–14 days.

On average 3–4 months. Highly active or very tense muscles may metabolize the product faster.

Yes—by relaxing over-developed traps, the shoulder line can appear longer and more graceful over several weeks.

It reduces the “hunched-shoulder” pull, but pairing injections with posture exercises or physio maximizes long-term alignment.

Temporary soreness, bruising, or a heavy feeling are most common and resolve quickly. Rarely, mild neck weakness can occur if dosing is too high—our conservative protocol minimizes that risk.

Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, anyone with active infection at the injection site, and patients with certain neuromuscular disorders (e.g., myasthenia gravis) should defer treatment.

Trap Tox pricing is based on total units used. Most patients require 50–100 units total (both sides), placing typical treatment costs in the $800–$1,600 range. Patients with larger or more developed trapezius muscles may need slightly more. Dosing and cost are confirmed during your consultation with Dr. Querido before any treatment begins. Wednesday appointments receive a 10% discount.

Absolutely. Many clients treat masseters, trapezius, and brow areas in one visit for comprehensive relief; dosing is adjusted for overall safety.
