The term “11 lines,” or glabellar lines, refers to the vertical frown lines that may appear between your eyebrows. These lines, resembling the number ‘11’, usually occur in pairs and, like forehead lines, develop gradually due to repeated facial expressions such as frowning or squinting. Over time, they can become more noticeable as the skin ages and loses elasticity.
Laser resurfacing
Dysport and Botox (see also our guide to forehead Botox) for frown lines is a quick, walk-in cosmetic procedure. The medical provider prepares the patient by cleaning the treatment area with rubbing alcohol. They may also apply a numbing cream to the treatment area if the patient’s pain threshold is low.
The provider marks the injection sites after cleaning your skin, and injects Botox in each spot. The injections cause minimal pain and take only a few minutes.
Women typically require average 20 units of Botox for frown lines, while men need up more than 10 units . The amount of Botox also depends on the prominence of the frown lines and the patient’s desired effects.
